hands on training on a motorcycle. It's spread out over a weekend.
The majority of the time is spent on the range riding the motorcycles. Check the weather and bring rain gear if necessary, because classes are usually not cancelled due to rain
The written test is multiple choice and covers exactly what is in the manual.

Some students can be concerned that there may be
experienced riders in class. Don't be.
Instructors coach new riders and experienced riders at
the same time. Experienced riders are urged to fine tune
their skills, and new riders are moved from gross motor
skills to finer motor skills. This isn't a competition,
this is learning to be the best rider you can be. On the range: you are required to wear protective clothing during the riding portions of this course consisting of the following
-
Over-the-ankle sturdy footwear
(high top sneakers won't cut it) - limited
boots supplied - bring your own
-
Full-finger gloves
(provided - but bring your own)
-
Long-sleeved shirt or jacket
-
Long pants without holes -- preferably jeans

What to bring:
Although Gator aid and water is provided (and
a cookout on Saturdays), you
may want to consider bringing a cooler with
drinks and salty snacks. There are lots of breaks but,
the course is challenging. During the heat,
bring salty foods to keep your salt levels up.
Drinking too much can dilute and wash much
needed salt from your body. Don't get worn down,
hungry
or dehydrated.
You will have fun here. SMILE. |
